Commonwealth bank

Commonwealth Bank, one of the leading financial institutions, recently experienced issues that impacted customers' access to their online banking services. However, the bank has made progress in resolving the situation, and services are now in the process of recovery.

During the outage, users encountered difficulties in transferring funds within the bank's app, and many faced challenges using their cards for payments at various checkouts. The bank promptly acknowledged the problem and provided an update on its website at 4pm, confirming that the cause had been identified, and efforts were underway to restore services.

The bank expressed its apologies to the impacted customers, recognizing the importance of its services and acknowledging the inconvenience caused. As services are gradually brought back online, the bank advises customers to anticipate potential delays in certain payments.

The issues initially arose at sunrise, preventing customers from logging into their online banking accounts. By midday, the bank confirmed that multiple services had been affected.

Customers reported various problems, including seeing zero account balances and encountering difficulties with EFTPOS services.

The situation resulted in a surge in demand at call centers and branches as customers sought assistance with their accounts.

With over 7 million users relying on the Commonwealth Bank app, the institution is diligently working to restore full functionality and provide a seamless banking experience for its customers
