The 2023 BET Awards proved to be a spectacular celebration of Black culture, where talent and creativity thrived. Taking place at the iconic Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, the event highlighted the 50th anniversary of hip-hop with a night filled with tributes and mesmerizing performances. While only a select few award announcements were broadcasted, it was the women of hip-hop, R&B, and pop who emerged victorious this year.

Both absent from the ceremony, SZA and Beyoncé emerged as major winners, triumphing in three categories each. They shared the coveted Album of the Year title, with SZA's "SOS" and Beyoncé's "Renaissance" projects achieving equal recognition.

The Best New Artist award brought forth an emotional moment for Coco Jones, while Latto secured her second BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Teyana Taylor, who accepted her accolade through FaceTime, was honored with the esteemed Video Director of the Year award.
